How to verify your site with Google and add Google Analytics
How to verify your site with Google:
Login to Google Search Console.
On the top left, click on Search property > + Add property
Select the URL Prefix option.
Enter your site's URL, like https://your-site.com, or https://our-app.com/your-site.
Click Continue.
From the available options, select HTML tag.
Click Copy, to copy the Google verification code to your clipboard.
Login to the dashboard of your site and go to:
Extra Options > Head and Footer Code
Paste the code in the HEAD Code text area. IF you see a red sign indicating there may be an error, ignore it. :-)
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes".
Go back to Google Search Console and click Verify.
Done!
Adding Google Analytics to your site
Login to Google Analytics.
If needed, close any popups that appear.
On the top left, click Create > Property
Enter the name of your website. For example, "My Cool Website".
Click Next
Select some options from the drop-down menus. For example:
Industry category: Bussiness & Industrial
Business Size: Small
Click Next
Choose your business objectives. For example: Traffic.
Click Create
Choose a platform: Web
Enter your website URL and your website name.
Click Create and Continue
After a few seconds, a popup will appear that says "Set up a Google tag"
Click the "copy" icon on the right to highlight an dcopy the code.
Login to the dashboard of your site.
Go to: Extra Options > Head and Footer Code
Paste the code in the HEAD Code text area. If you already have code there, paste the new code below the existing code. If you see a red sign indicating there may be an error, just ignore it. :-)
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes".
Done!
Troubleshooting: You added the necessary code but Google doesn't verify your site? Please clear your site's cache and try again. :-)
